A Space for Learning

This inspirational project is the Irish Architecture Foundation’s inaugural education programme. Almost 100 architects/architecture graduates worked with transition year students in a competition to look at design for their very own educational spaces. Ten teams have been selected to develop their designs into an exhibition that will open in NCAD, Dublin in November, and I’m delivering a PR campaign to maximise the programme’s profile nationwide in 2010.

Venice Architecture Biennale 2010

Commissioned by the Irish Architecture Foundation under the directorship of Nathalie Weadick. ‘of de Blacam and Meagher’ will represent Ireland at the 12th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice during Autumn 2010. Curated by Tom dePaor, Peter Maybury, Alice Casey and Cian Deegan, Ireland’s participation at Venice is an initiative of Culture Ireland in partnership with the Arts Council of Ireland. I’m devising and delivering its PR campaign.

Open House Dublin 2010

The fifth annual Open House Dublin, presented by the Irish Architecture Foundation, takes place from 7–10 October with the exciting theme of BIG, SMALL, GLOBAL. Over one weekend, Dublin buildings of all types and periods will open up their doors to allow citizens explore the architecture of their city, completely for free! I’m working with the wonderful IAF team to deliver marketing and PR for this year’s programme.

Dance Counts

Dance Ireland do amazing work representing and supporting professional dancers in Ireland, and recently took on to try to ‘count’ some of the activites that their members engage in, particularly the audiences they are reaching. The result is the inaugural Dance Counts survey, covering 2008, which I created with them and number-crunched into a short but interesting report on the impact of their members. Check it out here.

dance vs powerpoint: TEDtalk

Use dancers instead of powerpoint! I know this is 10mins long, and about science, but SOOO worth it. Watch this now!

Less is more

Simplicity has never been more powerful. Interesting little article here on distilling your message to as few words as possible.
